Beaulieu Garden Editorial Shoot for Snippet & Ink

August 8, 2017

Wow, this year is flying by! We can’t believe it’s already August and it has us reminiscing on a gorgeous photoshoot we were a part of this past Spring.

We had the pleasure of collaborating with some amazing vendors to re-create one of Snippet & Ink’s signature inspiration boards, the Vintage Botanical Jasmine Vine. Inspired by Spring and all of it’s beauty, vintage botanical prints, jasmine vines, cherry blossoms and peonies to name a few this photoshoot was something out of a fairytale. From the lace Naeem Khan bridal gown to the blush velvet La Tavola linens, we fell in love with it all.

Our friend, the talented Christina McNeill captured all of the amazing details & this real-life couple (aka me and Henry) in her gorgeous photos. Yes, that’s me, Rose and my boyfriend, Henry! It was so much fun being on the other side for once, and getting to wear an out-of-this-world-amazing wedding gown. I’ve always heard modeling isn’t as easy as it looks and now I know this to be true! Also, little known fact- Henry works with us on almost every wedding install and has become quite the integral part of Loop.

You can see more from this photoshoot on Snippet & Ink. I hope you love it as much as we do!

Floral Spotlight: Dogwood

March 2, 2017

Spring is around the corner which has us reminiscing on this dreamy dogwood photoshoot we collaborated on with our friend, Christina McNeill.

Blooming branches are always a favorite of Spring but dogwood always seems to steal the show (in our opinion)! This arrangement, simple yet elegant, was created to put dogwood branches in the spotlight and prove that sometimes, using just one element can make even greater an impact.

We can’t wait to dive into Spring and start using this beauty again, it’s become a favorite of ours!

Maggie & Clayton’s Romantic Calistoga Ranch Wedding

January 26, 2017

Maggie and Clayton’s wedding at beautiful Calistoga Ranch was dreamy to say the least! Looking back at 2016, their wedding was definitely a highlight. With the help of Lindsey from L’Relyea Events, we worked to bring Maggie’s vision to life. The result was something out of a fairytale!

From the intimate ceremony to the spectacular reception in the middle of the woods, every detail was gorgeous. Working alongside the talented team from Got Light we created our largest scale floral chandelier to date. Lush foliage and florals spanning 48′ down the center of the dining area hung alongside suspended edison bulbs set the mood for this elegant black-tie affair. Later the party moved to a secluded wine cave where guests danced the night away.

Here is a sneak peak at their day captured by the talented Erin Hearts Court.

My wedding | The Presidio, San Francisco

January 12, 2017

Happy New Year!  A few months back, I switched roles and instead of wedding florist, I was the bride.  Today through the gorgeous work of our talented friend, Silvana DiFranco, I’d love to share a bit from our wedding day with you.

Jamal and I knew from the start we wanted our day to be an intimate and informal, with good food, great music, and of course- pretty flowers. We had a late morning ceremony at the Tides Thoreau Center in the Presidio followed by lunch at The Commissary. I always envisioned I would plan my wedding in spring, around the flowers. But when looking at potential dates, November 5th seemed to make the most sense – and fall flowers turned out to be a very easy sell. I decided on “fall neutrals” and embraced seasonal elements such as persimmons, bittersweet, nandina, marigolds and garden roses. (I became quickly excited about my fall flowers!)

I had fun planning all of the wedding details, and tried not to sweat the little things. Listen to your gut, make decisions and move on, is what I always advise clients- and I tried to remember my own advice! (I did get hung up on a few things like my dress! But in the end, the tireless search paid off.) I also had the help of my dear friend and wedding planner extraordinare, Stacy McCain, to keep me on track.

That day it was so much fun to see everything unfold from the perspective of the bride. In contrast to wedding vendor mode- I was so relaxed! All those little things I’m usually sweating melted away and the things that really matter- Jamal and I- the ceremony- our vows- our family and friends- came into focus.  It felt magical, and I was truly touched by how beautifully everything came together that day- the flowers by my team, the linens, calligraphy, and that jaw dropping cake by Susan at Cake Bloom (…still dreaming about that cake.) Jamal and I are both beyond grateful to the vendors involved, and to our family and friends for showing up to celebrate love, family, and life. There are too few times we get to gather such a large group of “our people” and I will forever cherish our day of celebration!
